2020 has been challenging and has prompted us all to do many different things. In Ruth’s case it’s been singing.
Born in March 1926, so currently 94, singing has been a bit of a stranger to Ruth. Her father was a good singer and, as a young girl, she remembers the family gathered around the piano.
Lockdown could have driven us all crazy but singing has been Ruth’s saviour. In a formal bubble with Dave and Moira, it was only natural to combine good food, whisky and wine with singing and recording. What fun it’s been and what a challenge to learn the songs, not the least because some of the songs Ruth had never heard before!
Ruth hopes you will all enjoy these moment of joy and, to quote Michelle Shocked, let’s all ‘shimmy up Wilshire like a little silk worm’ whilst waiting for our escape in the form of a vaccine.
Take care everybody and stay safe.
